Q: Has anyone on here ordered from Importbob?

I saw an online ad for it, and it looks like they have a lot of good prices, but I wanted to know if they are reliable.

Just checked out the website. Where's their site map? Home page is enticing but on the whole the site looks a little suspicious.

You guys got any more info on Bob?

Bike? Mike?

bike-gypsy:

I found them through a facebook advertisement... they also have their own page on there. I think I will order some food or something relatively cheap and see how it goes.

I saw there add on Facebook also, someone made a comment asking about their legitimacy and the responded offering to ship the first order to that person and receive payment after the items arrived and were checked. Don't really know what happened, just what I saw.

Interesting all the owner's personal information is linked to the domain, usually when people register domains they do so through a third party (or their own business identity, but not themselves personally).

Funny if you look up the registrant's phone number it's apparently for "Speed Septic" located in Estacada, Oregon, which makes sense since if you look up the registrant's address it's also a farm located in... Estacada, Oregon.

Hmmm...doesn't look right...the webpage is too simplistic (read: unprofessional) for this type of an online business. It lacks a lot of things one expects to see or experience for such a website.

@Mike:  Did you try it out?

Careful, it could be one of those bogus businesses that steal your credit card/bank/personal information. At first, they would run like a legitimate business, but after a few months...BAM!!!...and you're like, "What the hell just happened?" " Where's my money?"

3.5 million products. Sounds too good to be true. I wouldn't even register with an email address I intend to keep use.

I didnt try it.  I didnt like the 3.5 million products. It seems like a portal  where they dont actually have products just source them. and the search tool sucks ass, so you cant browse for things.

There are better ones out there.

Anyone in shenzhen?? I found an amazing one.  nogogo.com

all english, free delivery to downtown shenzhen, lots of products and great prices.  They have a warehouse but no store i guess, call or order online and next day its delivered.  Well worth it if your in the area.

Rin:

As far as I know they are just a sourcing company. The products actually come from taobao i think. For me this was great, all the wonders of taobao in a foreign run operation. I don't have a Chinese partner so can't rely on any help to order things I want from taobao.

any update on this topic?  i've been searching through the site, looks and sounds way too good to be true.  i sent them a question asking if i can use a chinese debit card.  we'll see what their answer is.  i would never give them my US account info.

Rin:

I used my English bank card as it was too complicated to bother with Chinese online banking. No troubles reported here after 4 or 5 times of ordering stuff. First order I placed was probably nearly a year ago.

I've ordered from them four or five times with no problems. Stuff delivered quickly. I would recommend them.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
