I have never heard of any celebrations in China for the "GREEN DAY", so I cose to do it with a dinner at my home, and you should have seen the faces of my Chinese friends when I served green rice (used food colorant).
Have you done anything special besides drinking Green Tea ?
I was jealous of a friend who told me they got a shamrock shake. Does that count?
I had a very special cat that was born on St Patricks day, so I have a beer and remember my cat. He died in my arms one night. I really loved that cat.

Sorry to hear about that. On the other hand, he chose a great day to be born! Hope you tossed back a few and wished him a happy birthday!
Went to the pub, drunk imported (and rather shite) Guinness. Washed that down with a few drams of Jameson and lamented Scotland losing to F..cking Italy in the rugby.
As a Newfoundlander, I celebrate Paddy's Day yearly. Doesn't matter what country I'm in either. Each year I conduct my "Screech-In Ceremony" where volunteers willingly kiss a live fish on the lips, repeat a few choice Irish words and take a nice swig of Newfie Screech. Add that to the traditional green beer and good friends and you have a great nite out.
how could i not

who down votes an Irishman for saying that he could not forget saint Patrick's day.
We just finished our corn beef and cabbage, and YUM Irish Cream Pie. And a Mexican-Irish-ish beer. Corona with Lime and green food coloring.
The expat bar I frequent was PACKED!!!! All the usual shite was going on.. including smashed glasses and the obligatory green flavoured water ... oh, I mean 'beer'.
(personally, I hate St.Patrick's day... he was a murdering bastard, who killed anyone who didn't convert to his religion.. 'snakes' representing the wisdom of the druids... if it wasn't for my friends going-away party, I wouldn't have gone).
Conduct our own celebrations in China.
Lots of foreigners busting into the bar dressed green to the gills.
The green hats are always a spectacle.
Good craic!
Spent St. Paddies day in Hong Kong. Crazy scene there....and most people were drunk already at 7pm.
Personally I don't really care much about it...just another reason to get drunk...and I have plenty already.
St Patricks day - Changsha 2012 - packed out
St Patricks day - Changsha 2013 - out on the streets
St Patricks day - TBA !!

ironically, these were 'dry' celebrations, the owner of the premises not having an alcohol licence. Everyone had a great time anyway!
They have a big St. Patrick's do at Paddy O Sheas in Beijing and other mock Irish bars. To me it's like New Years Eve though, so much pressure to get drunk and it's just dissapointing. Still, I'd love to see Boston when they dye the river green.
