If you don't want to claim the FEIE, an HSA will allow you a deduction. But US banks, for the most part, have shut their doors to expats. Anyone setup a HSA recently?

A little education into Obama Care. If you make more than $ 57,000 a year in the US you will be forced to pay $428 a month with $5750 deductible, If you do not pay the premiums you will be fined $600 for the first offense. This will allow you to have one physical a year free of charge, otherwise you will pay full price for health services until you have spent the $5750 deductible. If you make less than $57,000 a year you will get subsidized so you will pay less on some kind of sliding scale. If you make less than $25,000 year you may pay nothing and get full coverage? Obama, in his infinite wisdom has made the middle class pay for the people that could not or would not buy health insurance . The middle class will get basically nothing for their $5136 insurance premiums, and that is if you don't get sick. If you do get sick , you will have to pay $10886 to get to the point where you have full coverage. If you make $57,000 a year you will have to pay out 19% of your income to get full coverage. Is it any wonder that the medical system is sucking up three trillion dollars a year. So unless you are going to make minimum wages you will have to have one hell of a lot of money in your health care savings account. It is actually called legalized extortion. Good luck
