Open the windows and try to dissuade people from eating beans and eggs for lunch.

It sounds pretty unfortunate, you get this kind of colleagues/bosses once or twice in your life. Just stay away from the drama, learn as much as you can on your job and get out of there soon as you ready.

I have had the good fortune of not being in this situation very often. I am of the mindset that being an ESL teacher is valuable here in China. If they do not like me, then I have no fear of finding other work in China or in the world. I have always spoke my mind and made it clear that if they do not like me, or they want to try to make trouble for me, it is no problem...just let me out of my contract. I have told government officials where they can stuff their actions against me. The very few times that I have had this "Coming to Jesus" talk with Chinese officials and bosses, everything worked out. I had a huge blowout with my boss, in front of his boss when I first arrived at my existing school. I have been here going on six years now. Since I set the record straight as to what I will and will not tolerate, things have been fine. I too have had to adjust to some things. Never have I compromised my beleifs, but I do try to bend and understand their point of view (the best I can).

can you give an example of what you experienced?

this will help in finding a solution. posters are apt to be more responsive if there is something other than a bland question. It shows that the poster is genuine, and not someone who is either a fake alias, posting for the sake of posting a question, or someone who will then respond with another alias and a spam.

to the OP,
how would you deal with a toxic work situation?

It would make you seem more like a real person if you shared some of your own expericences.

Otherwise it really makes you seem like a fake profile that is just here to 'stimulate' converation.

Hong Kong legislature descends into chaos as lawmakers BRAWL (VIDEOS)

Lawmakers in Hong Kong engaged in an apparent game of capture the flag, which quickly descended into a pushing, shoving and shouting match as a row over electing the chairman of a key committee intensified.

No more than that, butT ... here big TIC is at work ...

I'll repeat ..:

It's kind of funny looking these 6-months of riots from that angle, isn't it?!

SCS is next ... since you are stronger (than in 1990), you'll bully everyone around who also have legitimate claims around the whole territory??

You built up an atolls into islands and you (Xi-nnie-da-Pooh) promised:

Do you know Tanzania ...?

  "... a Goat, a Pheasant and Papaya walk into a bar ..."

"We Sent Them Samples Of A Goat, A Papaya & A Pheasant": Tanzanian President Catches WHO In Epic Lie

When the president heard the news, he reportedly confronted the WHO, then kicked the organization out of the country.

As the number of confirmed coronavirus cases explodes across Africa, the creeping involvement of the WHO has made some leaders suspicious of the NGO. Tanzanian President John Magufuli was growing suspicious of the organization, so he reportedly decided to investigate whether the organization was as trustworthy and reliable as it claimed to be.

He played what the local press described as "a trick" on the organization: He sent the WHO samples of a goat, a papaya and a quail for testing.

All three samples reportedly tested positive. When the president heard the news, he reportedly confronted the WHO, then kicked the organization out of the country. Though, to be sure, the WHO has yet to comment on the situation.

That would suggest one of two conclusions: either the strain of SARS-CoV-2 running amok in Tanzania is much, much more infectious than scientists understand, or the WHO has been reporting incorrect results either on purpose (as an attempt to bolster its credibility in the face of President Trump's attacks) or via error (yet another indication that the WHO truly is "badly broken" - as  Vox described it back in 2015).

"Not wanting to put the brakes on the row, Smith shot back with a series of messages, writing: “So it’s her fault because you can’t stop looking at her boobs? What’s she meant to do, wear a potato sack so you don’t get excited?

Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
