Q: Has China changed your personality - particularly angrier?
In my case it has.
I left this country just over a year ago, and in doing so, it cost me a divorce and access to my son.
I came back last September, albeit to Shenzhen, which is better, but although there are not so many, there are still things that test you.
For example, the other day, someone who is responsible for my visa and other things at my school never listens to me, even when I know what I am talking about and trying to help, only to then recognise I was right, made me bang on the table in frustration.
I felt guilty afterwards and apologized but I made sure I pointed out why I did it. He still didn't want to know.
Chinese can be very inconsiderate,
very unkind drivers, dirty with no manners, etc.
This can change anyones attitude.
I just smile and be as friendly as I can.
One day I will leave here and probably be glad I did.
I am not responsible for another persons actions.
I am only responsible for my reactions.
But sometimes it is hard.
The secret is not keeping an angry attitude but letting it go every day.
Don't let the sun go down on your wrath.
You will live longer and happy.

China woke me up, its like a big circus. I realized my country life stifles me, I've never been quiet or settled and thats what my life has become. I like adventure, chaos and crazy.
BHGAL:
I'm happy to be in your world of "silly" adventure ........ I love chaos and BS too!!
I was angry back at home .... angry about working/slaving every day ...... here I am far more relaxed and enjoying the every day comedy of ignorance and ineptitude and silliness and just plain backwards good old fashioned BS, while believing they are the greatest nation on Earth......amazing!!!...no stress here!!!!
anyway from my last trip back home I have just seen that things change for the worst. people are more and more impolite, rude and aggressive...so after all the "chinese" gym wasnt that bad...
Yeah, for sure... learned to have more patience, but I always try to be polite and friendly... with an occasional body check. LOL.
