Haha good question! And how she's embarrassed about her working class family. She, however is a stereotype of a post-war upper-middle class British suburbanite, the likes of which don't really exist anymore. I live near some of the most snobby, conservative parts of the country (south-east) though even people like her are a dying breed. I'd be interested to know what Chinese people would think of her though.
