To all those that live in Beijing, I just want us to take the time and reflect on how glorious this last week has been. Pollution levels lows, hardly need my coat outside, just a big scarf. Let's just hope this continues...though I know in my heart it won't.
Part of me wishes it would, I kept telling me when I moved here that it would get very cold and so far I look like a liar or an exaggerater.
The weather indeed has been extraordinary and China Meteo is not forecasting a significant temperature drop until around 12/18 or so.
Yes its been great compared to the other week with the crazy winds that made the temperatures dip. Lets hope it continues!
Meanwhile in Jiangsu... pm 2.5 pollution index jumped from 150 to 300. Heard it was pollution from coal from you Northerners. Living in the smog, thanks guys
There has been some big event going on in the capital: what this means for the common man is increased securtiy at checkpoints, and more gridlock as traffic is closed to accommodate the VIPS.
But this also means that factories are closed down to make the air nicer. The same thing happened during the 2008 Olympics: Beijing had glorious blue skies for a couple of weeks, and then it was business as usual.
Yes! It's been gorgeous. Sorry to hear that Shanghai's 2.5 AQI was over 500 this week.
