Q: Have u gotten text msg from the PSB when your residency permit was about to run out?

Got a text message from the entry/exit administration to say that either my visa or residency permit expires soon. I still have 2 months left and it completely stressed me out because I thought I'd mixed up my visa expiration date. Is it normal to get a reminder like this?

I've never received one but I wish I had, I missed it by three days this year and had to write a groveling letter of apology, (got away without the fine though).

I haven't received any of this either.

Go to the local Police Station where you registered and ask them to double check their records for you. Also show them the text message. Make sure you insist on the fact that you want to be certain about this issue and that you don't want to get into trouble, they'll give you an honest answer then.

Did they ask you to confirm your address by return text? That would be a good way for a thief to find out where you live.

Pay attention to what Traveler said. Double, triple check the veracity of the message's source.

yes I did everyday for a week until it expired, It was genuine and I did put a contact number on my renewal of residency form. A good idea methinks but you only get it if you have already applied
