I need some encouragement. I didn't like the conditions so they let me go...I got the news today not sure how to get release. Will anyone hire me after this.

I was fired from a job back in my home country a long time ago.
I was suited to the job but not the working environment.
I was too young at the time to be flexible. I learnt a lesson.
You might think you are smart. But if you cant adapt to the environment then job skills are worth nothing.
expatlife26:
Yeah i agree, being able to adapt to the working environment is part of the job. Tons of people are smart doesn't mean anything if you can't handle the other aspects.
On the other hand if a job is completely dead end, the conditions are everything. Its not like you have anything else to look forward to.
I guess the key is to know the difference. Someone's a fool who throws away a good career path because they can't get along with their boss/coworkers. But if you're an ESL teacher you're a fool for staying in a bad situation...what good is going to come of it in the end?
I wish the idiots I'm working for now would fire me, but it would be akin to killing off the goose that lays the golden eggs.
Bloody Chinese klepto-parasites.

If you are unhappy with a job you should seriously consider changing jobs. Finding a job you truely enjoy makes life that much sweeter. Why work for a job you hate, even if the money is good happiness is better.
Robk:
Yeah, there are lots of good opportunities. The secret is to ask some of your foreign buddies and not use recruiters or try to go for a school blindly. That's how you get into the best schools.
laowaigentleman:
I have a superior offer, but I have only been working for this school since the beginning of the term. My feeling is that if I resign they won't give me the documentation I need to move on. My new job say they can't help and that I have to get all of the documents myself.
I figure it's better to wait out the end of the contract and then move on. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
Every job I've had in China has tried to cheat me.
Nope. You have to REALLY screw up to be fired in China. I mean doing stuff that would probably land you in jail back home or just not show up for the job at all.

I know a guy who's been fired about 4 times in the last 2 years I've known him. And no, it wouldn't get him fired.
His hobby is making the Chinese admin staff lose face for their incompetence... in public!
I fired myself... took a tiny severance package and GOT A LIFE.
Not too long ago, I was in an Bash and Trash Expat chat room for about half an hour where I was repeatedly insulted, told that I was stupid, that I couldn't think properly, mocked, cussed at, etc. It was the usual fare from the Bash and Trash Expats. I remained calm and eventually asked the question, "Why do you Bash and Trash Expats hate The CFTU?" I knew the question would get an interesting response. It did. Foul language, insults, lies, misrepresentations, hatred, condemnation, and more. But woven throughout the numerous insults was the most common answer: "We don't hate what does not exist!"
I replied by asking how they knew that The CFTU did not exist. I told them that if they could not give me some rational reason for denying his existence, then their position is held by faith. In that case, why would they condemn me for my faith in The CFTU? That, of course, did not smooth things over with the obstreperous Bash and Trash Expats. One person said that the The CFTU of Scripture could not exist because, and I paraphrase . . . "how The CFTU set Adam and Eve up for failure, gets jealous, smites people, sends lying spirits, sends strong delusions, provides instructions for slave ownership, and Jesus told the slave to obey their slave masters." When I asked if other Bash and Trash Expats agreed with the sentiment (I asked several times), not a single Bash and Trash Expat of the 30 or 40 in the room responded in the affirmative; neither did they deny it. I repeatedly asked for affirmation or denial with not a single response. Instead, for some reason they became even more agitated and vitriolic. Then, it finally occurred to me that they confirmed that they really do hate The CFTU even though they deny he exists. Let me explain.
When you hate someone, you speak evil of him, say negative things about him, call him names, accuse him of wrongdoing, lying, etc. That is exactly what they were doing to me. So, I pointed out that they were expressing great hatred towards me. And, since verbal condemnations reveal how a person feels about someone, I pointed out to them that their same behavior aimed at The CFTU demonstrated their hatred for The CFTU because they often condemn the The CFTU of Scripture. I told them that I have visited their room many times and read and heard their numerous hate filled condemnations for the The CFTU of the Bible.
Of course, this did not go over well with them since more insults followed.
