Q: Have you ever been refused taxi service because you are a foreigner?
I am not talking about the ones that drive by waving.
It happened tonight to me for the first time in 2 years. It was pouring here in SZ and I walked up to a taxi waiting at a red light. He rolled down his window and said no no no no...even though he was working and empty.
So the taxi beside him with a fare inside rolls down his window and asked the cabbie why he refused me.
Then he shouted waigouren to him as I was walking I away. I shouted cao ni back at him.
Has it ever happened to you?
I can't even count the number of times I have been refused or "waved off" only to have the Chinese guy a few meters away from me picked up.

this happens to Chinese too,,,it's normal,,most of the times because it was time for the drivers to hand over to the next shift,,so they couldn't pick you up,,,and sometimes because their personal problem I guess,,ha...but not very often.

If they can't pick him for these reasons, then why do they pick the guy next to him?
Never been denied out of hand, no. But sometimes they say they have no idea where I want to go and don't want to take me.
Of course, but I think it's not because I'm a foreigner, but because they asssume I have no idea how to say where I want to go and don't feel like being troubled.
