Sammy, HIV is on the rise in China, for sure. The increase is often understated and underreported for reasons that I will not touch here. I have many Chinese male friends who are absolutely reluctant to use condoms and they tend to be highly promiscuous. This invites trouble. Women should understand this and insist upon this. It's a touchy subject, I know, but one that somehow needs to be addressed. Also, among my gay Chinese friends, and I do not have legions, I hear tales of unprotected sex, and try as I may to convince them to protect themselves. It is a serious situation.
No, but there are other STD also. The women would go without a condom I saw, I was just not in a hurry and did always use one. The scary thing I noticed was that condoms do leak,, Durex etc, not only out but in as well.
First of all, why don't you drop the term "foreigner"? You Orientals always use that term. * Have you heard of any Orientals infected by HIV or AIDS in China? ****** *****.
No..I have to go for medical checkup every year at the time of renewal of my Visa..so i prefer to get my visa renewal rather than unsafe fun..
So neither I am HIV infected nor i heard any foreigner suffering from this
Not heard .....but I doubt that if any foreigner got transmitted with the virus, that he/she will go and shout this on the roof......this is a serious disease and I am wondering if the authorities are taking appropriate containment measures, or doing proper mass education....STD is on the rise too in China.
No> but STD... Yes!!!! one of my foreigner friend he was badly transferred to his wife.
Never heard or seen that..........just around the net and articles about foreigners having these kind of infection
I have never heard of such incidents but that's because HIV is an extremely personal health issue. Society today still is not so open about it. I think things are changing though, MTV just aired a show called ”Im positive..” And it followed three young people who have the disease and go into how they got it. It really shows you that you can lead a normal life like anyone else.
So sorry about your friend. In the US if you test positive they provide you with counseling and stuff like that. is that an option here in China?
