Q: Have you heard about what happens recently in China?

I heard that hundreds of Chinese gathered in Xi'an to protest against Japanese, other surrounding an hotel for the hotel to give them all Japanese tourists, other burning Japanese cars.

Shanghai is supposed to be next.

They are Chinese who told me this and advised to be careful.

What I can say.....I am happy to far away of this second zone country....

In Japan, they are showing these images on TV news.....

I would just say damn you all the bastard participating in those riots...

And you Chinese government, if you cannot control your people, better you tell foreigners not to come to your country to invest money or live there.

I would be so happy that Japan takes away all their investment in China, then Western countries follow too to show their support.

A Chinese friend told me there is no one more bestial that an angry Chinese....

Good luck to you....

just typed a full 2,000+ word explanation of what is going on and the story that i witnessed last night in my city. then i deleted the entire thing. why??? i'm not feeling risky enough to say anything about this country. I am American. i will not bother what is going on between japan and china. besides, i have a good life here, i love my job, my boss is one of my best friends, and my girlfriend (who i plan on marrying) loves me very much. i don't want to lose what i have come to know as home.

Japan can rot in hell for all I care. China is my new home and while I think this dispute could be settled diplomatically for once China have history on their side. Japan were the war aggressors and they have still failed to formally apologise, (unlike Germany the other war aggressor).

Of course this is being fanned by the Chinese government no protests are allowed to proceed without at least tacit approval, but your preposterous idea the China would lose out if Japan pulled out it's investment is totally idiotic, in reality it is totally the opposite, if both nations stopped investment in the other Japan would be the biggest loser.

Actually I quite enjoyed watching the protest march through Nanning (about 200 people marching down Minzu Dadao at about 11am) yesterday, it was a welcome diversion and quite useful as a topic of discussion in my lesson.

nevermind:

Japan has apologized to China like A MILLION TIMES and no, China doesn't have history on their side. and maybe China should apologize to its own people considering they killed about 40 million more Chinese people than the Japanese ever did. But screw that, right?

Race baiting..fear and propaganda all rolled into a giant sized publicity stunt...which obviously went poorly.

To convince people they are free when they are not you need to convince them they have an enemy and they need to be very afraid and mad.

Cold war mentality but it works.

In the middle east they use religious wedges...in China they use what they can.

Japan took something that is not their's......I think the Chinese are not acting irrational..........imagine someone does this to your own country...wouldn't you be upset and angry?!!!!!!........Am not Chinese but i support the Chinese 110% in any action they take in hand.........just i wish my country does not cooperate with japan against china cause it's wrong to support the one who has the unacceptable actions

nevermind:

But it is theirs. China is the one going all around Asia pushing people around, their "claims" to territory go all the way to the shores of Brunei, it's over the top. they can't be taken seriously.

Crap are we talking about what happened 75 years ago? Japan destroyed other countries and killed the populations. The Allied forces were not innocent of atrocities. War is hell. No one is innocent. I can't imagine wanting to go to war. Why not develop a better brain that can work around violence. War is just me and my gang are gonna get ya, on a bigger scale.

Japan had 2 big Atomic bombs dropped on them. Do they play that film clip in China?

All those Japanese cars that were smashed belong to Chinese citizens, and all those Japanese businesses that were burned employ Chinese workers, so, who is hurt by this? Chinese people, of course.

We had a few big rallies in Changsha on Saturday. I told my wife that these "events" were probably organized by undercover government workers to keep the population focused on a straw-man. Nary a police officer to be found, untill after the fact. However, if these protests were against the Chinese government, there would have been thousands of soldiers out dispersing the crowds. Meanwhile, Japan is laughing at the witless acts of "protest" that the local Chinese people are fostering upon their own countrymen.

Friday night, we ate out with some friends. I was asked if America would help Japan (as if I know what my government would do!!). I replied that it would depend on what kind of defense treaty had been signed with Japan, and what the conditions of that treaty were. My Chinese friends were confused. Then, I had to explain the concept of the "rule of law," and how America would be bound by law if such an action was warranted in the treaty.

The idea that law was supreme in any land, and that a government would actually adhere to the conditions of that law was a new concept for most of them. Go figure.

Watched the news last night, and no mention of the protests all around China, however, they did cover the anti-American protests in the middle east, lol. As my wife said, "Chinese news: leaders are wise, everyone in China is happy, every thing else in the rest of the world is horrible." That about summed it up.

As far as owning a Japanese auto, if the Chinese made one just as good, people around the world would be buying them, instead of Hondas, Mitsubishis, and Toyotas.

crimochina:

same here . they could not understand the concept of honoring your end in a contract (treaty)

they say "in our hearts we feel it belongs to china" i will use that line the next time i see a Lamborghini or ferrari "in my heart i feel this car belongs to me"

Nevermind, you have a good handle what does it stand for? nevermind the facts?

"Washington Coalition for Comfort Women Issues also rebuffed the use of a word Owabi, not Shazai, in those Japanese apologies. The coalition said, "the expression owabi in Japanese in most cases means a sense of apology slightly weightier than an Excuse me."[6] They also criticized the Japanese government for denying any legal responsibility over such crimes as forced comfort women and refusing to compensate the survivors directly. Japanese government and Prime Ministers have used the expression "kokoro kara no owabi" that means "most sincere apologies" about this issues.[7]

Some in Japan asserted in 1990's that what else is being demanded is that the Japanese Prime Minister or the Emperor perform dogeza, in which an individual kneels and bows his head to the ground—a high form of apology in East Asian societies, that is too humiliating for the Prime Minister or the Emperor.[8]"

Source wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_war_apology_statements_issued_by_Japan

So you see Japan has made lots of apologies but never the formal dogeza apology and that is the ONLY one acceptable to the Chinese as that is the one from the Emperor that gives face back to China.

But it all doesn't matter to you so long as you can have another dig at China.

China has made millions of errors and has a long way to go, on an incredible array of problems, not least it's historical abuse of it's own citizens, but just because the Chinese rulers murdered their own citizens you appear to think that justifies the Japanese doing the same. How preposterous your racist hatred is when pointed out in such a way.

I don't back China on most of their territorial disputes, e.g. the claim for the whole of the South China Sea as their own is ridiculous, but if you look at history these islands quite clearly belonged to China, it was only due to the fact that China post WWII was in effect a non-state, that Japan kept hold of them.

Oh and please carry on giving all my posts a thumbs down, it obviously gives you satisfaction, you sad little boy.

MissA:

Ahhh, yes, the leaders of an Asian government should lower themselves to give face back to people they've historically wronged. What an excellent idea!

Naturally the idea is transferrable, right? Because the Uyghur people of Xinjiang, and the Tibetans, would like to have a word with the central government. The Chinese leadership will come and humiliate themselves for the amusement of the people they've historically invaded.... right? Right?

China keeps playing the victim card for their own advantage.  You're ignoring the facts for any chance to stick up for these corrupt assholes who murdered millions of their own people. What about that apology, Hugh? Do you give a s hit about the murdered tibetans? Students? Poor peasants.

more than 40 million were killed by this government you're defending. Hypocrite, and the fact you think a japanese emperor needs to kneel on the ground like a child just to humilate him to have made a real apoligy shows what a petty, idiotic nothing you are..

At least the people protesting in China were Chinese

Yesterday in Sydney we had a group of foreign a holes

Bring their Shit to My Country and they will probably get away with a slap on the wrist

If you don't like it F off

As for China V Japan

It will run it's course and be banished to the back pages  till the next politician that needs face raises their head and then it will start all over again as it always has

Please remember This is my view and may not be yours

It's the same old same old; gang warfare. Each government no different than the Jets and the Sharks. The cause? The monetary system. Living within it there are no outs. Money is the creation of need = hunger = thievery = war = a continuing cycle in which there are no outs. Children playing Monopoly. Can't all have it all, right?

THERE IS A BELIEF THAT NATIVE AMERICANS ARE DECEDENTS FROM CHINA (sorry for the caps) so all of america (north central south) belongs to china!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mArtiAn:

Sure, under the current 'monetary system' an aim of globalization is a given. Unavoidable. But isn't that what the states are aiming for too?

Personally I don't care who makes it to first place; China; America; bleedin' Portugal for all I care. It's the same old same old. 'The people' rule, they are the ones in charge, and just as long as you keep enough of them happy, it doesn't matter how the minorities suffer, or how great their numbers be. And under a monetary system, there will 'always' be suffering.

Saw a little bit of this in action here in Ningbo.  Didn't see any organized protests, just some individual shops that put up signs or notices saying something to the effect of "Japanese people are not welcome here".  Haha, even one shop laid out a Japanese flag as a welcome mat and another Japanese flag on the sidewalk out in front of their shop, so everyone coming in or passing by would have to step on one of the flags.  Hope I didn't offend them by jumping over the flag smiley

I saw a very small thing about protests and assumed it referred only to those islands. I'm surprised Japan's war crimes are being raised here.P>

Am I the only one who feels deeply queasy about the deaths of all those people being used as a dog-whistle whenever it's convenient. Using such an awful set of historical events so cynically is nasty, even by nationalist-politics standards..

Shouldn't be surprised, I guess.

nevermind:

This current government murdered 20 times more chinese themselves, like they care about exploiting the deaths of those killed by the japanese.
