As of July 1st, 2013, you can now legally work on an X visa. There are some limitations, however. I don't know of them right now.

if I got this right...... I think it is great news ...... my simple mind believes that work experience, travel experience and just plain old life experience are more important than schooling .... schooling is good, but but but ..... useless if you don't know how to use your knowledge out here in the real word.
BHGAL:
take fewer classes .... get a part time job .... take another year or 2 or 3 for that diploma ... and do it with less stress ..... relax, THINK and enjoy.

That's what I'm doing now. I'm relaxing until I get home. I took a year off my major to come here and study abroad. Quite a grand experience, and I enjoyed my time here. I might complain a lot, but I've had more good times than bad... except in Changsha.
