I remember thinking that Chinese cuisine must be rather complicated, and my GF then cooked a dish so simple and delicious that I was like : oh!....even I could it !
Ha ha ....it was my first lesson and I have since learned to cook some more but the souvenir of that first one is embedded in my mind.
Would like sharing it with you, you can give it a try and tell me afterwards if you liked it.
Ingredients : Green vegetables, for example lettuce, a spoonful oil, some salt, and abalone sauce or oyster sauce.
Have a pot half filled with water, boil it until bubbles showing up, put a pinch of salt and some oil in it, then put the vegetables in the boiling water, cover, and let it start to boil again.....take the vegetable out, spread them on a plate, pour the abalone sauce on it and that's it !....delicious.
They all love Do jiao. Those green beans with pork.
I don't even think I've ate a dish that would impress the crowd back home, let alone learn how to cook one.
