They are actually making it a law now to have free condoms inside hotels in China from now on as ordered by the government. They want to prevent Aids and other things they said it was an awareness or something and they are requiring all hotels to have them for their guests. Plus they want to use it as birthcontrol...

A lot of the free condom dispensers are empty or not working.  This is because local merchants will bust them open, steal all the condoms, then sell them in their stores.  Of course, this is also similar to the reason why you don't see toilet paper in many public toilets.

I haven't seen condoms but I was surprised to see loads of safe sex adverts specifically designed for gay people around the hutongs near the forbidden city.

I've never seen condoms for free in China, anywhere. Back home they have them all over the place but never seen it here. Not sure how Chinese people feel about contraception.
