Q: Having Fun With Skype?
So, Hotmail gets replaced with Live mail which gets replaced with Outlook. MSN Chat gets replaced with Live Chat then Skype. 9 out of 10 times, Skype for MS accounts doesn't load (for me). How come all of these 'improvements' seem to cause more problems? Can't anyone produce a free email and chat service that doesn't require 2000 levels of backdoors and ads anymore?

Here's the beauty of it: Login for Hotmail users. Three times get the "Something Is Wrong" crap. Then, "Your Login Name or Password is incorrect" - so sorry, login name and password have been the same for more than 10 GD years (stupid, I know, but I do know well enough that I've entered both correctly). I recently checked my Yahoo account (after years of neglect) to find little Spam (as they promised) but now the email page dances and explodes with ads. click on a folder name and it takes 10 minutes to load 9if it ever does) but sure as heck the ads load, resize, change, and dance across the monitor. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I have Yahoo account with my SF mailing address, so it is US Y!. I am not sure if my mailing address is cause, but it works good.
My Gmail account very often doesn't want to load up, and when it does, it is awfully slow.
I don't have Skype email address, I have Skype for chat and phone calls.
Yes, SKype is fun! I get to use the video calls and use their chat rooms. I had to use it when I was tutoring a guy in a different province. Had some interviews through skype etc., It was really fun to use. Some lady introduced it to me the first time I started using it. That was the interview thingy majiggy! He he, I said: 'first'! (

Lately, my skype will not transmit my video feed. I use QQ and my webcam works fine, I never had trouble with instant messenger, yet for the last two weeks my family cannot see me via skype. I have even shut off all programs except for skype, but no avail.
I MISS INSTANT MESSENGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you using the Tom.communist Skype or the slightly better slightly unadulterated version? I think there's something afoot to block the users of the non-Tom.communist version of Skype.

Hmmmm the same things are happening to me. I'm sure it's a coincidence.
I met the same problem . since the last update，I can't turn the video switch on anymore when I try to have an audio chat. after several weeks I decided to uninstall it and found an older version of Skype that I downloaded last year . it works great. I also unchecked the auto-update option.
Skype in China is notoriously bad. I can never have one smooth conversation without either the screen freezing, there being delays or just not hearing the other person properly. I've since switched to facetime which I highly recommend to anyone who has an apple device. The picture and sound quality is vastly superior to skype.
