I ordered stuff from the US, never came, was returned. I had stuff sent air mail from home and I said courier, took 3 months, Airmail should take 2 weeks, make sure your stuff has Chinese address, mine did, didn't help

I found this on Beijingcafe, maybe it will help:

Why not sign up for usglobalmail.com mail forwarding. They can receive your packages for you and then forward to China. If you choose USPS shipping option it flies thorough customs (unlike DHL or fedex option). I use them for my business but also for anything I cannot get in China. Amazon Prime and usglobalmail.com = anything from US in Beijing in about a week.

TedDBayer:

I don't know about US, but Canada charges full rate to forward parcels and a fee for doing it.

It
was a mjstake sending by USPS as when it gets to china-its now China Post, whjch is -notorious for either being super late or losing your stuff. Tracking number might not even help if its in China. From my experience its probably still stuck in customs, i didnt get my xmas package till april on year.

Next time send by fed ex, more expensive but you can easily follow the package and know it will arrive. Last one, regular price snd speed came in 5 days

Post office-to-post office (non)deliveries are replete with mishandling, "loss", theft, monumental delays, and other mishaps. If you want a surefire guarantee that your international shipments (from the U.S.) are secure from origin-to-destination, go with FedEx or DHL despite the higher shipping costs.

At least, that's been my experience living (and losing parcels sent by USPS) in China.

You're worried after only 14 days?  Getting something from the US to China via USPS in 14 days would be nothing short of a miracle!  In my experience, the minimum transit time and best case scenario is 3 weeks (21 days).  Like others have said...better off to use FedEx, DHL, or maybe UPS.  USPS is for sending stuff you don't really care about....like Christmas cards (at least that was reasonably cheap....$1.10 a pop).

DHL - 8 weeks to arrive

i followed it's route from Beijing - Shanghai - Guangzhou - Beijing again - Guangzhou again.

I was then asked to pay tax on the contents (all pre-used books and clothes)

no

My family used USPS last time.  it took about 3 weeks.  But in China, it's a crap shoot.  My DHL experience was better.
