Q: Hi. How much is the high-speed train fare from Harbin to Beijing?

* I'm just wondering as I've noticed round-trip flights between Harbin and Beijing are around 1500.00 RMB. (not including tax and fee of 150 RMB.)

Thank you!

One way seat fares are 267 Rmb for hard seat, 333 for soft seat each way.  There are no fares for soft or hard sleepers.  A word of caution, these are posted fares, actual fares could vary with time.

Not sure where you got the air ticket price from but online tickets sell for about 890 + 150.

I'm pretty sure my 2-way trip on soft seats on a normal train were about 400-450.

Overnight train.  Get on the train around 9pm and arrive around 7:30am.  Sleep (or try to) the whole time.

check CNVOL, Chinese Train Time Table web site. There are all info about particular train cost, stops, soft sleeper or hard seat.

G Train (300 km/h) doesn't run North of Beijing yet. Z, T, K, D, or 'numbers only' for the slowest train.

Hi icn,

Thank you for the info. OMG, that would be fantastic if the G train..the super fast one ran north of BeiJing to Harbin or DaQing!!!!!!!!! :) * Do you have any idea when the G train will start running north of BeiJing? * Has there been any news about this at all?

No news about building G Railway North of BeiJing as of yet. I saw G Railway bridge construction (concrete bridge span carriers) somewhere on the route BeiJing - AnShan. North of China is maybe few years away from G train commuting. G train in the most cities require new Train Station, too.

I am often using G train on route TianJin or BeiJing to NanJing and back, approximate distance of 1000 km. G train pass the distance in little more than 4 hours, for around 400 Rmb for 2nd class, one-way ticket.

You can always purchase ticket(1st & 2nd class, only!) day before departure, and train is most of the time half full.

Inside G train is very similar to interior of the airplane. Seats are very comfortable, lined up in one direction. Windows are much bigger than in other, regular trains. In the end of the compartment, there is a screen with info about current train speed, news, weather condition, and so on.

I can imagine travelling with G train from BeiJing to Jiamusi.
