Do you think teacher will be replaced by digital products like, phone, computer. I particularly mean the language teachers>
Yes, but just like everyone else. It should have already happened actually, a society where people don't have to work anymore and can focus on improving themselves or the world. It's called the post-work society and is very achievable with our current level of technology.
It's just that the wealthy and powerful would lose their position so they try to prevent the inevitable, ultimately they will fail.

In reality a post work society would lead to the downfall of mankind. We'd spend our time doing stupid things like endlessly taking photos of ourselves, watching Springer or shows like the Kardashians. It would develop a sense of entitlement and make us think we're not supposed to work for anything.and everything is supposed to be given to us. Look at welfare societies.
mArtiAn:
I'm all for the idea. Haven't been watching Zeitgeist have you? I heard with our current level of technology 70% of the world's population could stop work right away if only we would utilize it. As for whether we'd all become couch potatoes, I don't know. I don't think so. Either way it should be the choice of the individual to rise to the challenge of being productive with their own time. Certainly couldn't be worse than the demeaning, factory tool jobs people are unnecessarily forced to do all over the world now.

my only question is after this no work utopia exists and robots make everything, how do the people earn the money to pay for what the robots make, if we dont pay, how do you decide what each individual or family receives.
Englteachted:
People can't be put out of work in a capitalist society. Economies will stall. There will need to be a worldwide shift to socialism which I fully support for many other reasons.

it sounds idyllic, but i don't think technology or even the establishment are the limiting factors. without a sense of purpose to drive and occupy people's minds, people will turn to disruptive activities. we will service our own egos before we turn to any personal or societal improvement. It's the housewives that are desperate. It's the millionaires without jobs that are eccentric. It's the teenagers skipping class that get into vandalism. People don't just sit on their hands, and we do NOT have the technology to supervise that many idle hands and minds, by a long shot.
No big deal. It's happening already.
You can study foreign language without teacher by listening tapes or studying over the Internet. However, your hearing must be 'top notch', and you must posses high ability of 'imitating/acting' to achieve proper pronunciation (sound).
Did I just describe my shade?
Not good teaching, that depends too much on a personal understanding of one's students. A good teacher is like a psychologist half the time, you have to exercise a different approach to different students in order to achieve results. Technology can replace teachers to some extent but the best results will always come from the real life kind of teacher who knows when to be chilled, when to be tough, when students need to knuckle down and when they need to let off steam. A computer can't read a student's state of mind.

i have met kenny a few times, has a weakness for expensive brandy at 65 dollars a shot at the ritz carlton in atlanta, had a beautiful home in comer georgia with a waist high swimming pool in the barn for the use of the horses only. married a beauty queen from athens georgia, famous line " know when to fold them, know when to hold them" wrong order, sorry, hold first then fold,
mArtiAn:
Know when to hold them, know when to fold them, eh? I have a similar rule with my underpants.
Seriously?
There are 2 ways technology will 'teach' us - by having programs which emulate teachers, or by having the technology 'implanted' directly into our brains. The latter is some way off. The former is within a decade.

the most current change is skype teachers working cheaper from the philippines teaching english in classrooms to save money on ft salaries, korea is already implementing this, perhaps china will soon, although the 2 countries have some political problems to fix before the fornication of harmonious english can begin in earnest good faith, whatever that means.
Aren't you already taught by programmed soulless automatons?
i wish there were automated driving instructors.
imagine paying in advance for driving lessons, only to discover that your instructor distracts you with exaggerated emotions for every little mistake. where's my robo-tutor?!!1!?
In around 50 years, yes. We still live in a good time. Make the best of your teaching while you still can.
Not in China.
A robot cannot be bribed to falsify examination grades.
Very soon, about three years. Not sure what Ima goinna do.
