Q: Is his height the problem?

Have any of you ever been rejected by a native Chinese girl for being not being physically attractive enough? Someone I know is having a hard time finding anyone in China. He's attractive, and he's one of only a few foreigners living in his area, but he has one shortcoming: he's only as tall as the average Chinese man, not nearly as tall as most of the Chinese men in his remarkably tall city. Is the problem his height?

Maybe. Or maybe he is fat and bald.

But probably it's just that he has an awful personality .

Chinese worship height something fierce, so it might be.

However, I saw a 5'2" dude with 2 Chinese girls in his arms, and he was really fat. All of the girls were like a head taller than him. They were really having a lot of fun together... and all the Chinese guys were sitting there so jealous and angry, "Why are they with this foreigner? But he's so fat... he's so short. Even I am taller than him! Why are they with him and not me? Oh, it's because he has money! It's all about money! Chinese women are shameless gold-diggers, otherwise they wouldn't spend time with someone who was so fat and short, and quite obviously a loser!"

Yet, this guy was better than them in every way. He had less money, was much shorter, and he was fat. That's all they could focus on. That's all they KNEW how to focus on. Meanwhile, the guy and his girls were having the time of their lives. They were genuinely happy and excited, and he was treating them like they were women while being very kind to them.

Oh wait... Chinese women, like all women, are human beings. Chinese men seem to forget this quite often. Maybe your friend is too insecure, not confident, and quite possibly an asshole? Maybe even Chinese?

expatlife26:

Those who are poor worship money, those who are short worship height.

Wherever a resource is lacking people place a psychological premium on it.

But honestly I think short guys get shafted everywhere unless they have a ton of confidence. It's just China has no law stopping job ads from putting on height limits like a roller coaster. You look at online dating sites back home tons of girls say 6'+ only...no different than here just more realistic given the heights of americans.

I played basketball in highschool so all my friends were super tall but i'm  6'0 so even though I'm about average I still feel short!

I dunno. My cousin married a really short guy, he's like 4'11" and they're really happy together. They also have three kids. I don't see short guys getting shafted unless they lack confidence.

Then again, every guy I've ever met who lacked confidence was always shafted. Confidence... women like it.

I seriously doubt that height is the problem..... a good guy is a good guy ...same for women...  personally, I have banned my wife from "fake height" .... just because I can... and she agrees and likes the comfort of actually walking on her feet...I to like feeling the floor..ban shoes altogether .."cool man"

In general Chinese girls like their man to be taller than them and perhaps this holds true for all girls everywhere.  If he's just average height for a man then he's still got a lot of girls to choose from though so its likely to only be an issue for taller than average girls  Sounds like he has other issues much more problematic

ScotsAlan:

Nah. Wendi Deng is taller than Rupert Murdoch.

Bernie Ecclestone has no problems getting girls.

Nor Tom Cruise.

Rod Stewart goes for taller women too wink

I did meet one Chinese girl who hated that her husband was so short. She would constantly complain about being poor, even though she had a wealthy, well-connected family back home.

It was free sex, though... so I didn't complain until... certain things happened. Then I ran away. Good thing, really.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
