In China, December 25 is a regular working day,  For Chinese New Lunar Year, you will get from one week to 4 weeks, depending where you work.  If you are a teacher, from two to  three weeks.  Some Government  employees get as much as one month off

Chinese employer, local contract, therefore local holidays... No Christmas, and no extra days for New Year. But I got more-than-average holidays for Spring Festival & Autumn Festival, totaling to 4 weeks a year. It depends on how you negotiate with your boss.

I've worked for private and government schools. I've always had 2 days off for Christmas, we foreigners are usually given that as it is 'our holiday' so to speak. New year January 1st is a national holiday, I'm pretty sure. Three days off for that. Regarding Chinese New Year.. most private schools will only give you about a week off.. In the government schools, I got 6 weeks off.

Rin:

NB: For most Chinese 'holidays' they will give you days off mid week and make you work the weekend to 'make up' for the 'holiday'. Go figure.

I work privately so I get about three dead weeks at Spring Festival and something like the same in Summer. From this year on I intend to use that time to visit my friends and family back on Mars.
