Dear reader,
I've eaten plenty of Hot-pot's since being here and love the simple idea of boiling it and eating it. So..I want to do some home cooking in the same way. Got everything, all the meat and vegetables...byt still not sure about water.
Never thought about it, but would the street vendor use tap water to boil things in? or a restaurant?
If you think about it - your boiling the water so it should be safe to drink, so I don't see why.
The reason I'm asking is, I don't a water filter machine and don't see the point in spending extra money on bottled water...which is [according to more recent news reports] probably not that much different!
I drink bottled water at home, but don't have room for large bottles as i have a small fridge/apartment high up! I know water is cheap, but I only buy small bottles...
Thanks!
If that Nongfu water or whatever was called was contaminated and it was supposed to be one of the most trusted water bottles out there I probably wouldn't trust it, but I use it anyways. I'm just like that. It won't kill you, but it might make you sick!
if you have to ask then go ahead and use tap water. scoop it straight from the toilet
Mr_Sausage:
well...i would but its bright blue with toilet cleaner - you DICK
must be all of that lead, mercury and any other neurotoxin paranoia dust that has been shoved up your ass!Traveler:
Sausage Dude: If you know about the lead, mercury and toxins in the water, why did you ask the question?
crimochina:
what moron does not know tapwater is not safe to drink? especially in china. hell the waters are dyed blue.
TedDBayer:
I've never noticed blue water, is that why I look like a smurf?
The chances are that the products that you are putting in the water will carry a much greater risk of contamination than the water itself.
I can say with almost 100% certainty that restaurants use tap water. Hell, they even use gutter oil! I however, would never use tap water when cooking at home. Homecooking is the only way you can guarantee some transparency and peace of mind so why not choose only the best and by the best I mean spending 15 kuai on a barrel of water. It's not the bacteria you should be worried about in tap water, it's all the other stuff in it like metals and toxic chemicals. Avoid it like the plague!
