This has happened to me twice within a year at 2 different hotels in GZ. Both times is was the same thing...getting into the shower and I close the door without any force and literally the glass shatteres into a million pieces. Luckily both times only superficial cuts and very light lacerations with some bleeding. Has this happend to anyone else here ?!

Shower glass is made to break up into very small pieces if it breaks. It's called tempering. If it broke in big slivers/shards then you'd be at risk of really serious injury. At least it broke as it was designed to.
It shouldn't break for no reason though so this was probably very poor quality or had been abused in the past.

And/or "I close the door without any force" is slightly incorrect...

That did cross my mind but I gave the OP the benefit of doubt
No, never.
However, in hotels in Heilongjiang country side one must ask: 'Is there a hot water in the bathroom?' How about 'door knobs'?
They just have bathroom with cold water and towels in the room.
If I get an up-vote, my total count will be 11111. Is there anything special about it or it's just a coincidence?
OK, I'm all right till midnight. No more up-votes, please!
This happened to me in Hefei. It was a winter morning and their water heater was set too hot. When the hot water hit the cold glass sink, it shattered with a loud bang. Fortunately, I suffered no injuries and the manager came and gave me another room at no extra charge.

Sliver sounds like you're slamming the door too hard. You can't literally close the door with no force at all. So you are lying or are a pundit and don't know what 'literally' means.
It happened to me one time, in my Beijing apartment. The shower glass door was on hinges and when I opened the door, the hinges dropped off and hundreds of glass pieces fell on me. I was slightly injured, and for a long moment couldn't get out of the bathroom because the bathroom door opens inwards and was blocked by bloodied glass lying on the floor. Later I didn't let my landlady to install a new shower door, and since then never close the door of the bathroom when taking a shower, because I'm afraid that the glass sides of the shower cabin also could suddenly fall - I want to have opened a way of escape, just in case
