It depends on where you want to live. In more central areas like Dongzhimen, you will be looking at 5000-6000 RMB for a recently furnished one bed with living room. You can probably find cheaper housing outside the 3rd and 4th ring roads but probably nothing for under 4000 RMB. I think flat sharing is your most economical choice.
