Q: How are Black people perceived in China?
I have a friend of mine, he's from Ivory Coast, and is here for a year. He told me people would stare at him, but i answered is normal, because Chinese can't halp but stare at foreigner out of envy.
But apparently, they look at him not the same way as they do for me or other Westerner. He suspects Chinese to be racist toward Black, but told him it must be is imagination. I'm right, right?
What do Chinese think of Black people?

Ok, let me answer.
I can tell easily that who is African-African people, who is African-American, but most Chinese cannot tell.
And let's say, Chinese think American r rich, r nice, and it's commone sense that there r a lot black people live in American. A lot young Chinese love basketball, hip-hop, black movie stars~
I have a good friend, he is fashion designer from New York, and he said the same thing to me, he said people star e at him, and he feels bad~ But I think maybe they think he is handsome, he is hot~ He is! But he is gay, pity pity~
Nothing to do with racist at all.
They are just too curios to the dark skin and can't stop looking at it.
Please ask the black men, did you ever get bad treatment in China? Did any Chinese refuse to help you when lost direction?
Ha Ha the Chinese people are in denial.
The darker the Chinese skin the less desirable for marriage. The darker the skin, the more hours out in the sun as a manual laborer.

Job recruiters ask first for passport photo page. This is not to make fake passports. It is to see the color of your skin.
