quality of campus food can depend on location and size of university.

Currently i am on a campus where there are many different canteens that cater to different wallet sizes, so it can be cheaper than off-campus, depending on where you chose to eat

Food quality: edible to good

no problems so far

My wife works at the local University .... not the hot food canteen, but the junk food dispensary......  sometimes she gets a "good deal" and brings home excessive amounts of "junk food" .....yes it is edible and cheap.... but sometimes I wonder about "kids these days"    ...  like I never ate potato chips ......too many hard boiled eggs, sticky rice shit, and potato chips and pop/soda/sugar can't be good for you. the cooked stuff next door, I think is pretty good, both nutritionally and cost wise.

It depends on the university of course Smile

* In Hefei university (USTC), the food was really, really good. Good quality rice, fresh & yummy vegetables, lots of variety, all that well cooked, not to much oil or salt, what not too like !

* In Suzhou, the cheapest options were not very good. Yes, 5 RMB for a meal, but the rice was tasting like paper, always the same 6 options, the vegetables were pretty much sponges with water inside. Gave up after a few months and got better food outside for twice the price.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
