Hadnt had a massage in a long time so decided to go for the full body Acupressure massage to relax and generally feel better after it. But today I woke up feeling sore and stiff all over. The massage itself was also excruciatingly painful, so kuch so that I thought about telling him to stop a couple of times. Is it normal to feel sore after the massage? What's the point of getting these if it just causes pain? Anyone?

You are supposed to feel pain if you are not healthy....They told me if the skin showed red then that means you have problems and you will feel some pain and discomfort....I had some pain so I know how it feels. If it doesn't show red that means that part of your body is ok....
I usually have this state where I feel my muscles are totally at ease, and it takes me while to get up moving again.
If you feel pain the day after then you don't go back to that massage place again. A thing about the massage places is that as these people manipulate your muscles and bones and they can cause a lot of damage. It is not just for fun that physiotherapy is a lengthy education in western countries, where here it is something people just go do. Often even in so-called "good" spa's the people working there have no actual idea what they are doing, just some basic knowledge about pressure points which may or may not fall into the hokum category of science.
You are supposed to feel like you have been put inside a wooden cask and left to tumble over Niagra Falls!

With knives sticking in every part of your body. You forgot to mention the knives.
To be honest when I get a traditional foot massage it feels ticklish and painful during. During which I can also feel my bowel movements, I know its weird but, focus next time and after its completed I bet you can feel it.

So what you're saying is that when you get a foot massage, you feel like you're taking a shit. That's.....................wierd.
I guess the Chinese believe it should be painful. It seems to be what happens for most people, anyway. However, if you're going for such a lengthy massage like that, you could really be hurt, so go with Scandinavian's suggestion. Either find a better massage place and tell them to be gentle, or don't get another massage.
