I did mine via an agency in Ottawa while living in China.  I sent  my degree to an agency, they did the rest. Got my degree back in about a month. Cost me 600 Canadian. The agency I used was A.L.S.C. They were very professional.

biggj123:

You just need it authenticated right? The Canadian government does this service for free but im curious if that is all I would need done? Just authenticated?

In the USA, it goes like this..(correct me if I am wrong): Get the degree notarized at your college..then take it to the County Clerk to get authenticated..then send it to the Secretary of State in the State it was issued for an apostille..then send it to the Chinese embassy where that state is districted to be authenticated..Then the document is authenticated. Prepare yourself for a lot of fees, postage and phone calls. Very little can be done online.

Yeah seems like its similar to canada but seems if I get the authenticated by canada and then send it to the embassy in canada they can do the rest. I just cant find a straight answer online.

Had my degree notorized then stamped along with a certificate written in Chinese by the Chinese embassy in Canada. This is what my employer wanted from me in the sticks of Hubei last year. No criminal record check though.
