Just get lots of money - enough that you don't need to ever work again, then quit your job.

My dream of striking it rich, moving to a coal powered Chinese megacity and buying an apartment over an early morning meat and fish market where every vendor has a megaphone and guts his chickens and fish on the street is within sight ...if I close my eyes I can almost smell my dream home now.

I lived in such town in Fujian ... I can't recall the name of the city ..., but my apartment was on the 4th or 5th floor on the outdoor market. Exit from apartment building was through the market. I could sharpen all my kitchen knives weekly ...

It was also good 'cause I didn't need to carry peas and carrots for my soup from far away ...

Two of the apartments I lived in were near places like that, I loved the convenience, I could walk through the market on my way home from work and pick up whatever I wanted for dinner that evening.

One of them was a bit freaky walking through at night though, it was poorly lit and there were huge rats everywhere eating the waste food.

I was kidding with convenience ... I'd prefer silence with carrot&peas a mile away.

... reading your comments ... Fok-it, we're all anon ... here, I can be safely 'Braggadocio ...', he he.

Once, I was approached by some movie making guy in LA. He had dark RR with the driver. We had a small chat and then he said: "I can make you rich!" ... implying I should became an actor.

I replied: "You aren't rich enough .. to make me do that!" and walked away with maybe US$200 in my pocket. True story!

Sometimes, I use different reply on similar proposals or challenges: "I was born rich!" ... talking about the size of me brain ..

I went to look at Fujian's cities listing for the name of my city, but ... I stayed there some 2 months and then I went to another city.

I pre-planned all while I was still in HK ... one school fcuk-up my RP, so I was unable to transfer it to another employer and I had to exit.

I was in HK some 2 or 3 months, looking for the new sponsor to return to China ...

Whatever all-western we like in HK, I disllke '1000 people per m2'. Honestly, always when I landed in HK, I couldn't wait to return back to China ... after a month of stay 'cause of congestion. Everywhere you turn in HK is queue, so I accepted first contract and ended-up residing on outdoor market in Fujian. I thought while I was still in HK, I'll resign at the first School's contract disrespect and I did.

Only interesting thing in the city were cows with the hump. I have never seen such a cow before ... their --->cows'-es---> bulls on the contrary were all without the hump. That must be some sort of "Bos taurus matriarchy ..."

I thought, that is some kind of Chinese thingy ... you know, breed between camel 'nd bull .. , but then I saw such cows later in India.

I had the same problem with sweet Chinese peanuts ... in shell, mind you.

For long time I was considering such peanuts special peanuts sort, but ... they dip peanuts in shell into the sugary water and then dry it off on the sun ...I am a peanuts guy, but I've never got sweet peanuts in shell elsewhere ...

The biggest peanuts in the world grow in Virginia, USA ...

Lottery dude!,,, Lottery.  I always play 7's,,,,,   as a back-up plan though I do have one serious-ass Piggy-bank!  I bet she's loaded w/ like 200+rmb right now!

icnif77:

Did you know, lottery and other gambling is an addiction?

You'll never win, what is da matter with you?

I rather toy with idea to find a bag or case of money (like in Pulp Fiction) ... I've never gambled ... for long. Cayman Islands, Nevada, Atlantic City ... I would gamble ... as long as I would get free booze, he he

Did you really think, you'll score big if you'll reply to me handle ...?

For me, the most interesting thing in Casino cities was to observe people ... I do that very often elsewhere too, like in Chinese train ... trying to figure it out what do they talk about just by 'reading' their reactions and face expressions.

OK, ... observe people in gambling cities, who got broke and they're always trying to get even ... The  dress code is regularly "the cheapest dress and formal shoes from K-Mart ..." and they are ready for the comeback. That's how I realized gambling is in real an addiction.

Now, it is completely different once you go in for the entertainment and fun, and whatever you spend on the machines is no different than when you have drinking night out. You never come back home with more money than you exited.

So, once you level playing roulette or slots same as spending money drinking and eating, you are good.

But, if you change that to ''let me make some dough in Casino ...", you'll end-up broke.

I mean, just have a look at the all hotels and other buildings in Casino cities. That wasn't build with the tax-dollars ...

Anyway, in gambling house always has the upper hand. You as an individual have a slight chance, if you walk away at the first winning, but not too many people do that ... or in Brick Top's: "As greedy as pig.". The other thing in Casino is longer you play less chances you have to ended up as a winner.

Have a look at the flick "Casino", 1995 ... Dinero, Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci ...

Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci): "A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes. But you gotta do it right. I mean, you gotta have the hole already dug before you show up with a package in the trunk. Otherwise, you're talking about a half-hour to forty-five minutes worth of digging. And who knows who's gonna come along in that time? Pretty soon, you gotta dig a few more holes. You could be there all fuckin' night."

Ginger McKenna: "Nicky's methods of betting weren't scientific, but they worked. When he won, he collected. When he lost, he told the bookies to go fuck themselves. I mean, what were they going to do, muscle Nicky? Nicky was the muscle."

Nicky Santoro: "Fuckin' bosses. I mean, they're smokin' their Di Nobilis and they're eatin' trippa and fuckin' suffritt', you know, fried pigs guts? While, if I wanna talk private, I gotta go to a fuckin' bus stop."

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
