Q: How best to look for a job in China?

Hi, I've lived in China before as a student for a year, and now that I'm nearing graduation, I was wondering what people advise for looking for a job there, particularly as I'm still in Europe?

Specifically, I noticed some people talking about themselves or friends who came to China, and then found a job. Obviously that's allows access to the jobs that insist on a face-to-face interview, or a test first, but how should one handle the visa issue?

Whatever about the test (because I can see the justification for it, particularly in certain jobs), it's often annoying how many employers with otherwise lax requirements, and not fantastic conditions, insist on a face-to-face interview, where even Skype isn't sufficient.

My first instinct would be to do another short Chinese course. At least that way I'd be getting something out of it whether I find a job or not, but I know that X visas can't be converted into Z ones, which would necessitate a costly trip home (or possibly to HK) if I do find something.

Look up online the job availabilties send your resume and if you have the qualifications you should have people contacting you within days. Try to find the jobs that are run by professional trusted people. Talk with them by phone or through skype. You can actually conduct your interview that way. I've done it before. If they like what they hear they will continue with the process and could get you the documents to work legally in China.
