Q: How can I check if my hot water bill is legitimate?

hello everybody i have got my hot water bill statement at the door for january to june 2013 .Its now october but on the bill it says i used 61 units of hot water from january to june which means 28 yuan per unit equals to 1700 yuan . When i only use the hot water for showering twice a day 10 mins each time and ocassional cooking. Do you think they overcharged me and how can i check that they didnt rip me off and who should i tell and how check it because the other neighbours only 56 or 280 yuan and are hot water and cold water seperate bills or the same.

2 showers a day for 10 minutes each will get pretty expensive; i don't know about 1700 rmb, but that is not surprising. when in China i have like 5 minute showers, and some days i even skip the shower if i am not doing much.

from Jan to June. now that i think about, i am surprised your bill is not more than 1700 RMB. i think it is fair.

Either this is a bogus post or someone is screwing with you. I have never seen an apartment where the water heating system was not in the apartment. That would mean it is impossible to be charged for "hot" water. And the questions you're asking, why not ask that of your landlord in the beginning. Honestly I find this post hard to believe, unless the landlord is cheating you.

And do you really need to post this anon?

i m not sure though but i paid always like 50 rmb water and ~200 electricity for 2 month

so i guess you got somewhat ripped off

water is pretty cheap normally, but depending on your heating system. I pay cold water and heat it with a boiler so the expenses switch to the electricity.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
