I want to live and work in China. How can I find and apply for a job while I'm still in my home country?

First, you'll want to decide whether to hire a recruiter or do the searching yourself. There are a plethorea of Chinese recruiting websites (simply search China and job or career and you'll get more hits than you could ever wish for). Going through a recruiter means the company or school has paid that company to find a willing expat like yourself to fill a specific role. Be warned: the company you're applying to should pay any recruiter's fees, not you! Along with the legitimate recruiters, there are no shortage of scams as well. Search and probe, but don't pay. You can also hire a headhunter specifically, which will incur a small fee. If you're looking for a higher-end job, this may be the way to go. Or, if you'd prefer to go it alone, there are plenty of online job classifides like eChinacities.com, classifieds.chinadaily.com, zhaopin.com, 51job.com, asiaexpat.com, and many more. These sites have occupational as well as city-based searches, so you can be sure to get what you're looking for. And, don't forget about word of mouth. Know somebody who moved to China? Or know somebody who knows somebody who moved to China? Many expats are more than happy to offer tips, job advice, and sometimes even an interview at their company or school, you just have to ask.
GuilinRaf:
I would like to add, be VERY careful when using a recruiter! I had one that tried to charge me $1,000.00 US dollars, so be very careful. Eventually the job I got was by "word of mouth". Best of luck! GR
honey123, you have been spamming that site on several posts. I hate spammers, but for once I will be nice and give you an insight into the way many 'westerners' think.
I will never in the rest of my existence use that website you are spamming because I heard about if via SPAM. Your site can offer free sex with 72 virgins without becoming a martyr and I STILL will never use it!
Get it? Spam is self defeating!
Next time I see that link I will just report it as abuse.
