Q: How can I get a SSN for my sons living in China?

As many of you know, I have 2 sons that were born in China about 4 years ago.  They already have their US passport and I would like to get them a Social Security Number (SSN) as well.  Does anyone know how to do this in China?

Start at the US embassy web site or US immigration

if all else fails try emailing your home town the  government guy who represents you

after all that is why you pay them

let us know how you go

Are they only US citizens, Chinese don't like having duals, so be careful when you apply as you may loose Chinese benefits.

Go to the US Consulate in Guangzhou, and request to talk to the Chinese lady in charge of SS affairs.  She will give you the proper paperwork and get you the numbers done.

If I recall right, her name is Julia Yao.
