Use the translate function on wechat. So when you are on a date you can chat via your phone. Ha ha, you will look like a married couple, out for a meal engrossed with your phones
I suggest downloading the Google Translation app on your phone, it has a voice feature that's nearly instant.
In my early days in China I dated quite a number of local girls who didn't speak a word of English, and my Chinese was very limited.
Also I would argue that dating a non-English speaking Chinese is actually one of the best motivation to learn the language.
ScotsAlan:
google translate has not worked for over a year. nor has google maps, gmail, or just google in general.

Never mind. Baidu has also this feature. But I would more question the sense of doing so. Even though ScotsAlan on another thread recommends to trust into OP genuiness I would have really hard time to persuade myself that anything like that is really possible. I already find some of Strawberry's questions more amusing ...
You both need to work on improving your language skills. He with English, and you with Chinese. My fiance is Chinese, but he can speak English decently, and my Chinese is also pretty good, so we never have communication problems. Over WeChat, we always talk in English, and in person our conversations go back and forth from English to Chinese and we never have a problem. But I remember when I first arrived here and couldn't speak Chinese..google translate was my best friend. I still use it sometimes. As Gouxiong stated, you can also use Baidu if you don't have VPN software on your phone to use the google apps. All the google apps still work if you have a VPN connection.

oh we never chat :( he only asks 1 ~ 2 things on wechat and we never had conversation . Do you think is it normal?
And what vpn do you use ?
Thanks for your answer

Shouldn't he be trying to improve his Korean, not his English??
WanderingTeacher:
From what she said, it sounds like she speaks Korean and English, while her Chinese is not good, and the boyfriend can speak Chinese, and his English is not good. She didn't mention that he could speak any Korean at all. So if he can speak some English, and she can speak English, he might as well try improving and building on his English, rather than starting from scratch with a new language, and she should start improving her Chinese, since she already knows some Chinese and can communicate better with him.
Honestly, what you need to do is learn Chinese, or have him learn Korean. You can teach each other your respective language, and this could help you grow closer together as a couple.
1. Get a friend who can understand you
2. Date said friend instead

You have got nothing to complain about.
You will get a husband who will always listen to you.
Maybe you both should start of on an even keel and learn a language together, one neither of you know. Might I suggest Sindarin.
I'm sure that 29 weeks later, she still checks this place every day to see if there are new answers. Definitely.
