Q: How can you become a movie extra in China?
Is there an agency you can register with or a website that puts out notices for extras? Ive heard of many expats who were extras on film sets but no idea how they got the opportunity!

Check on thebeijinger.com in the classifieds section. You might be able to find some ads of people looking for movie extras. I think you can also browse the classifieds just for the I-wanna-be-a-part-of-a-movie ads 
Good luck! My friends made some money on this. I have never tried.
as zosiasamosia says, look in relevant local media. here we have a couple of web sites for expats dedicated to the city and here I signed up for participation in a CCTV production.
Tips based on my experience. Bring snacks, don't expect to be treated like a Hollywood star. Be prepared to see disorganization that you will never have seen before. It will not make you rich financially, but it's an experience.
