Q: How can you tell if a melon has been pumped with growth hormones?
I heard about the exploding melons last year because farmers had injected them with some kind of chemicals or hormones which made them grow faster and bigger, and was wondering if there's any way of telling apart the natural ones from the "compromised" ones.
Farms in Jiangsu province were losing acres of fruit to overuse of a chemical that helps fruit grow faster, causing a rash of exploding watermelons in eastern China. So if it blows up on you you know you have a bad one!!
TedDBayer:
thats the Chinese trying to develop a super weapon,, oh look a watermelon,, BANG
the melon will have a deep tone when you tap it
and also will be competing in the next Olympics
If when you attempt to cut it open it practically explodes that would be your first clue.
The melons have weird super-growth stuff. The chickens have growth hormones. Everything else probably has too, as well as insecticides that don't kill insects but do kill humans. I'm sorry to say that probably a good percentage of what we eat is made entirely of evil.
