Q: How do I ask Chinese people if they are interested in investing in Canadian property?

I am a Canadian realtor who has a wonderful property to invest in.  7 bedrooms with 8 bathrooms and located on 6.5 acres of land.  Also located in a very clean area just an hour and a half from the largest city in BC, Canada, VANCOUVER.

Well, Mr. Ralph Galer, maybe instead of driving up British Columbia real estate for locals by searching for foreign buyers you can get an honest job.

Now, F*ck off, you parasite.

thats hilarious

rgaler:

Hello Samm11:  I am very glad that I am able to add hilarity to your life.  The comment that I had made is straight forward and to the point.  I am indeed a realtor who is attempting to find interest in his listing on Vancouver Island British Columbia, Canada.  I have no knowledge 'what-so-ever" in how I go about attracting Chinese interest and so I'm doing "what I can" to attract that attention.  If you can please point me in the right direction I would certainly be grateful.

Is it in Vancouver, or on Vancouver Island? Cause they aren't the same place.

8 bathrooms. Any of them squatters ?

rgaler:

No none of them are "squatters" as the home is located in Canada. I know that your reply or guestion was meant to be funny and if so I understand the humour.  Seriously I am indeed a realtor from Canada wishing to locate serious Chinese folks who might be interested in investing their money in Canadian real estate.  The property is a "bed and breakfast" and could still be used as that.  It's listed in the Multiple Listing System and its priced at 1.28 million.  Its water view and waterfront property and has 6.5 acres.  If you have knowledge as to how I can attract attention of interested Chinese families who are interested in investing in Canadian real estate, than I would love to hear from you.

muhahaha, more bathroom than bedrooms. keep your chinese dream Laughing out loud devil

rgaler:

Dear Nessquick:  This is no "dream" this is for REAL.  I am indeed a Canadian realtor wishing to locate serious Chinese families who wish to invest their money into Canadian Real Estate.  For that matter it can be "anywhere in Canada" and I will be able to introduce them to the right people.  The property that I have happens to be in the province of British Columbia and in Vancouver Island and it is priced at 1.28 million.  It is both water view and waterfront and has 6.5 acres. If you can help me I would very much appreciate it.

Doggonnit I was looking for eight bedrooms. Ah well. What's the asking price? I won't look at anything unless I know the asking price.

rgaler:

Well isn't that nice someone who is replying without being insulting.  The asking price of this 6.5 acre parcel is 1.28 million and it is listed on the Vancouver Island multiple listing system.  And no I do not expect anyone to purchase it without at least having a look at it AND if they're not interested in that price range than AT WHAT PRICE RANGE are you interested in?

...now the bathrooms, do they have squat toilet?

rgaler:

Hello Skunkman:  I'm suspecting that you aren't really interested as of course the bathroom's will be Canadian regulation and not Chinese regulation. On the other hand if you are interested than perhaps we can talk further.  The price tag on this home that is listed on Vancouver Island, British Columbia through the "multiple listing system" or MLS is 1.28 million.

If I were you, I'd start making connections with the wealthy Chinese community in Canada. Read Paulberger's advice below...it's not going to come cheap, as I'm sure you know. Transactions of this nature usually come by word of mouth thru proper connections. The important thing is you need to get your foot in the door...you don't have to start with real estate immediately.

If you are going to attend a party or function, bring along a Chinese female friend (who knows how to speak Chinese) and pretend she's your girlfriend.

Read up on how Chinese do business...and everything else that goes with it. Always give them the impression that they're getting more than what they're going to pay for. The nuances of  "treating them properly" will most likely make a difference. Do your homework! Connections, connections, connections!!!

HI PLEASE CONTACT ME AT [PRIVATE MESSAGE] I WILL WIRE YOU A LARGE SUM OF MONEY FOR THE HOUSE. HOWEVER, YOU MUST FLY ME OUT TO LOOK AT IT AT YOUR EXPENSE. THE HOUSE HAS TO BE TOP QUALITY.

BRING ME TO VANCOUVER AND PUT ME IN A 5 STAR HOTEL WITH ALL THAT JAZZ. I WILL COME AND EXAMINE YOUR HOUSE. IF IT IS CONSIDERED GOOD ENOUGH I WILL WIRE YOU THE MONIES FROM MY ACCOUNT

rgaler:

Dear Hulk:  I love your humour and thank you for responding.  If you are truly serious about purchasing Canadian property than you would be able to afford the price of plane fare and you would also ask me to send you "other examples" of the same type of property "before even considering to buy the air fare!"

Unfortunately I'm extremely poor. Are you hiring a bodyguard or web developer?

haha i don't think having a big green monster with anger issues would be a good choice for a body guard.  now, if you smoked some pot to mellow out... you might have a shot.  but interestingly enough, if this op did want to attract high end chinese to his listing, he probably would have to opt and buy them the tickets and put them up in a nice hotel to give them face.

aside from all the funny comments here.  i do have a bit of advice.  my buddy at the bank i use to work for worked real estate listings in the LA market for foreign investors.  when it came to chinese, they expected to be wined and dined.  he had to front the money for air fares, hotels, and related expenses.  the chinese, especially the so called "elite" that can afford these properties expect you to give them face.  treat them like gods.  it sounds like total BS, i know, but its the truth.  networking is key to success in the china.  if you do want to attract wealthy investors, i think your best shot would be to come here, attend high end social events, network, take people out to dinner/ktv.  once you meet the right people, they will in turn direct you to their "people" that would be interested.

rgaler:

Thank you Paulberger!!  .........and how about realtors in China?  Is there such a thing?  Its obvious to everyone that responds to my enquiries that I'm completely ignorent of the ways and goings on in China.  It reminds me of the time that I had been bullied in elementary class in Ontario simply because I couldn't speak english.

The future of property sales possibly. We should not be tenants in our own land to foreigners who don't support our country and pay taxes here. Good logical argument.

i wouldnt mess with the canadian market.

it's a bubble ready to burst

retiredinchina:

Yes, I have money in the Royal Bank of Canada waiting for the crash, I hope it's as good as 2008 in America. I got a duplex in Atlanta 3br,2ba one side 1br,1ba, other side in a nice suburb for 88k and and 2br,1ba condo 2 km away for 44k from Well Fargo forclosure department. Good Times. I would love a place in the valley outside Vancouver for about a 100k. Rent in cash from illegals that Trump hasn't kicked out yet is 3k a month in Atlanta, Probably will have to lower the rent to 2200 after there deported but its all good.
