It's not that easy! You have to first be able to play music really well. I wouldn't say there is a big competition. Where you from originally? If you can find a competition join it and try to be heard. American Idol has polarized some figures into superstardom already and it could do the same to you. Good Luck! Cheerio! broken heart

start  searching what's really best... what you really want to be.. Just focus on one career first.. one at a time and not at the same time..it's what most successful people do.. having a career is learning it by heart.. and not just for the "pay"...of course it includes everything in the end... good luck

If you can speak fluent Chinese and sing in Chinese for example this will help a little as you will be a novelty, apart from knowing the right people or being in the right place at the right time.

Yes, advertising companies are always looking for people who can't spell, don't proof read and have no experience. You're a shoe in. Sell everything you own and come to China.

i do not care how this sounds but your picture is black so i do not see a lock happening unless you like really racist adds for things with black or chicken in there names.

though if you are a champion kickboxer or basketball player then you might have a chance of not shaming your self.

please correct me if i am wrong but think there only like two or three white actors who started out in china that are known, and i do not think black men have the same chances after the stuff i have read here.

First I did do research I cannot find any famous black men in china besides the one from the article on echina. Second I said he could get work, just not real acting work. Third all I am saying it is unlikely, why would they ever higher a black man to star in a movie or TV show. Forth he would have to be a Sidney Poitier or Denzel Washington level black actor and speak perfect mandarin and Cantonese. There is just no market at the time. So I stand by what I said he does not make himself sound that good or confident, so why would I think that he would be able to do something so hard to do.
here is the article

You're an idiot. Do some research before you say something like that. I'm pretty sure Echinacities even had an article about that a long time ago.

Hao Di (好弟)

Singing their hearts out

Fluent Chinese-speaking foreigners are also working their way into the Chinese music scene, no doubt much to the surprise of many Chinese listeners who don't realise a foreigner is singing until they see a picture of them. Ukrainian singer Dmitry Kovalev (吉米) made a name for himself singing Peking Opera and other popular Chinese songs, and in 2010, he came in 6th place at the annual Avenue of Stars competition – he was the only foreigner to do so thus far. In addition, although his Chinese is still at an intermediate level, the lead singer of the Five Continents Band (五洲唱响乐团), Hao Di (好弟) from Nigeria is also making quite a name for himself in China, most recently performing on the Jiangxi Satellite TV programme China's Red Singing Party《中国红歌会》. It must run in the family – Hao Di's brother Hao Ge (郝哥) was runner-up in the 2006 Avenue of Stars competition, and is currently signed with the Liu Huan Music Studio.

this guy does not seem like someone you would Reilly call famous

Steve is right. If you can sing and speak Chinese well, there's a chance that people will find you entertaining. But I don't think it is going to be lucrative. Besides, it's probably not the type of fame you're looking for.
