Q: How do I know an older woman wants a relationship with me?
It's very very easy for me to know when a Chinese girl is interested in something more than just friends. But I've no clue as to how I can read older Chinese women - ( not talking of married ones, here) e.g. divorced women or simply those that are 35 and above but have no man in their lives. If they like a man, say 5 or 8 years younger, do they expect him to be explicitly declare his interest or the women play the 'aggressive' part in initiating a relationship? Please help!

I'll answer this honestly. She will smile and talk to me. If not she will give me the eye, some will call me ''hello'' and give me the come here finger. This is international signal, works for any woman on any guy (kinda). I've even had a woman sign- me, her drink the bottle I'm carrying and nap, then try and drag me away, I had to wrestle myself free.. you know subtle hints like this,, just pay attention.
Well, if she grabs you in a full nelson and screams "你 是 我的！！！“ ("You are mine!") at the top of her lungs, then it is a safe bet that she may like you.
Ok, seriously.
What you need to do is make eye contact with her. If she h olds your stare for more than three seconds, then you should approach her. Say hello in English or Chinese. Then, grab her by the ears and kiss her right in the mouth. If she kisses you back, she wants you.
On the other hand, if she kicks you in the balloons or screams while scratching your eyes out then it is probably safe to say you need to find another girl. And maybe a good lawyer too.
