Q: How do they plan to see what's in front of them while walking?

I mean, they do that whole Linda Blair thing and spin their heads back 360 degrees to goggle-eye the foreigner as they continue to walk forward.

What happens if a bus is coming and they don't see it?

The odd thing for me is this is the ONLY time Chinese have the concept of " behind them" . When a laowai is there and they are rubber necking. Any other time in their life, behind them is not even a concept.

Its really interesting if you watch them. The stopping on the top of the escalator, the walking down the sidewalk 5 wide, changing lanes abruptly.

I used to think they are inconsiderate dicks, but their inconsiderarion is just so innocent, they truly have no concept that the world exists behind them. I thought it was a genetic mutation affecting all Chinese from Maos totally great and planned for a reason famine. But then i go for a walk and everyone is turning their heads a full 180 at me so im left confused.

Here's an even scarier thought.

What if he didn't starve them?

I wake up sweating at the prospect.

Have you been to the mausoleum?

I like to play a game when I'm outside. I count how many people turn their heads as they pass me, and I make sure to stare them down until they feel awkward or crack a smile and yell "hallooo"

I open my eyes wide toward the star-gazer. When I feel annoyed, I pull down my lower eyelash with forefinger, and pierce the starrer.

I did that to one kid in Fujian, and he followed my move, and starred back at me.

"What happens if a bus is coming and they don't see it?

In my situation the said person continues cycling right into the back of parked bus, breaking their nose in the process but continuing to stare at me whilst nursing her nose and glaring at me like it's my fault.  I shouldn't have laughed but...

I sometimes stand across from hazards to lay a trap. People look at me instead of the hazard then trip, crash, etc... Odd but fun.

People planning ahead... in China?

I've seen too many cyclists who just get "PERSON WHO LOOKS DIFFERENT FROM ME!" shooting through their minds (and I do imagine the thought appears in all caps), which shoves out any other thoughts, like self-preservation (which already had a tenuous enough grip).
