It's just so hot, I hide most of the day.
Do you do the same or minimize a specific type of activity or become nocturnal too?
I don't handle the humid heat very well, so I try to go from one air conditioned place to another.
I have a plastic fan I carry with me. Just the slightest breeze can be a blessing.
And, to the horror of most people, I put ice in my beer .
Scandinavian:
why not just drink Budweiser if you like watered down beer.
ScotsAlan:
Hey, give me a break here. The OP asked what people do to deal with the heat. So I put ice in my beer !!!!
I don't see you guys coming up with any solutions to the heat problem .
Right, I need more ice. This beer is too strong.

Haha ScotsAlan I think the reason Yanjing or Tsingtao tastes the way it does is because those who produce it have been putting ice in it throughout the whole brewing process.. But I agree. Cold beer is a must. Also agree with Scandinavian - the table gets so so messy.
AND my glasses fog up everytime I leave the aircon and it makes me look ridiculous.
The main problem of the humid heat is the extreme amounts of condensation on the cold bottles of beer. Not that it in any way lowers the joy of a cold one, but it does just make the table messy.
I am a big fan of the ACs dehumidify setting. The ACs we have, when set to dehumidify still provide lots of cooling, but they run more silent.
Maybe go for an ice bucket challenge, but remember to check the ice bucket to see if there are any full beer cans left.
ScotsAlan:
What de-humidify setting?
The controls for our aircons are in Chinese, so I only know the on off and up down button.
So you can set them to remove moisture?
Scandinavian:
Yes. Normal AC removes moisture too. But some (if not all) can dehumidify. In most cases it is just a matter of the fan running differently to optimize condensation on the cold parts.
mengxing:
My aircon barely works, doubt it will dehumidify unfortunately. Autumn is going to be incredible...
