Q: How do you find your clients?
Any of you run your own business. Do you invest on some business channels or you just get the clients for free?
Is there any good ways to get clients without any investment. Is any of you have done that please share your expereince. thanks.
I am doing my export business and it gets tough without investing any channels to get clients.
Offer free handjobs. You claim to be good at it. Then watch the customers roll in.
You're not supposed to bump your own questions!
Plus you've asked this before. I doubt you took any notice last time!

I get my new clients by word of mouth from my existing clients. This only happens because of the level of service I give. The last time I actually advertised, in any form, for new business was over ten years ago. You need to understand though that to be able to achieve that level of loyalty your service needs to be exceptional and I doubt that any Chinese even knows what that means. A little story to illustrate; two and a half weeks ago I met up with a Chinese friend of mine who operates an import/export business. We meet at a international trade show in Manhattan. There were exhibitors from all over the world but the Chinese section, (probably 80 different business') of the show was somewhat quiet and my friend did not know why. It took me less than 5 minutes to see exactly why. All the Chinese stalls were the same, a few products lined up on a very cheap looking stand, there was no incentive to anyone to stop there. I asked her when she got back to China how the show went and she said her only business was from existing clients. I advised her of what to do next time to vastly improve that, and I am not going to tell you for free, so do not ask. The thing was all the Chinese relied on the idea that with enough people going past some would do business, no one thought to actually do anything to encourage that business.
If you want to do business with foreign companies you have to seriously up your game to doing business the way the rest of the world does it, not the the cheap skinflint way China does it.

Thanks for the answer. But I think it depends on your client's level. I have a client from Australia he is more up to good service and quality rather than just prices. But some may more into cheap things
tomcatflyer:
Vicki you have misunderstood. You are asking in the OP about you gaining more clients. It is not about your clients being professional enough, it is about you improving your standards and being more professional. If you want real business advice PM me and we can discuss fees, as I said I do not give it away for free.
Shining_brow:
Tomcat - give up!
You told her that she has to up her game. She has said "no, you are wrong! I will do things my way, because I am Chinese and I am right!!!"
Which is exactly what Chinese businesses have been doing for years!
developin' clients requires atleast some expense, viki. trade fairs, advertisin', overseas travel et al.
otherwise bein' plain lucky !

The most natural thing is to gain clients through friends, and then spread by word of mouth to new acquaintances. It does require that people regard you as a person they like and want to spend energy on. My wife is an ISFP; it comes naturally to her. She has that je-ne-sais-quoi uniqueness that keeps people friendly and interested.
Being non-confrontational is essential. At no point in a conversation is it wise to mention you like white cock, or you don't want a black baby.
If your conversation partner says it, you need to respond in a way that doesn't alienate them or any other listeners. That's an ISFP's specialty.
