Q: How do you Guys and Gals handle Yes No, No Yes, Yes Yes, No No?

I not sure if I fully understand their answers (as per question) so I make sure by getting them to explain? What do you do?

I try to politely explain to them that it sounds childlike to use single word answers in English (which is what adults told me when I was a young man), and also try to explain why yes =/= 对, with examples. 3/4s of them pick up on it, the other quarter loses face and has a monkey spaz.

If it's a class, try to build a lesson around it, so it seems you're not targeting anyone. If it's a friend or acquaintance, tolerate it.

It bothers me to no end when they do that. Particularly people who speak no English, save five or six words, but just want to show off.
