There are a lot of fake products on the market, even fake food. Do you know how to test your oil to make sure you are not cooking with plastic oil?
We buy oil in big supermerkets like AEON and CarreFour and only some trusted brands. Then I will also often get oil from Macau or Hong Kong.
I don't eat in Chinese restaurants, and I use only well known imported Italian olive oil (Carapelli) for cooking at home.
I have every meal catered in by the First Class Catering Service of Air France. When they are on strike, sometimes I try British Airways Catering Service home delivery but generally speaking, English cooking is unfathomable.
My kitchen pantry contains a bottle of Spanish olive oil and a reputable brand of Chinese peanut oil bought at Metro. That's it. I don't cook with oil much since I rarely fry food. Always steam vegetables (or eat them raw in a salad) and upon serving, drizzle some olive oil on them with other condiments, herbs or grated cheese.
Meat and fish go into the oven, broiled or baked in their own juices and a little olive oil.
