Q: How do you stand the overcrowded subways?

If there are 10 people rubbing up against you what do you do to calm down relax. Do you think about something nice, count the stops or something else?

I not believe anyone rub you. I hear you have bad smell. If someone is rubbing against me I do not want to calm down. I do not want stop. Just watch your stuff does not disappear and I mean all your stuff.

I see no subway. I see stairs, i think subway, but is underground stores. I think silly, why I walk subway tunnel and see stores I do not know.

i usually read whatever ebook i'm into at the moment.  tale of 2 cities right now..   wow,, the 'Terror' was a bloody time...

as far as rubbing against me, I have pushed fella's away and told them not to do it. they get the idea even though language barrier. as u r probably aware 99% of these peep's have no concept of 'personal space' or any idea that you cannot touch, rub up against another.

i should post it under that other topic,, but a strange thing i see here regularly is a grown male resting his head in the lap of another grown male.  cock a doodle DO for them.   cock a doodle DON'T for me...

Bring a chicken in your bag..don't let it out but make sure people know you have one (head poking out and clucking).

If they don't retreat after this then release the bird.

Tips for subway riding in Shanghai:

1.) Try to avoid the subways during the peak rush periods of 8:30-9:30 am and about 5:30-7 pm.

2.) If you MUST take the subway during these times, try to get on either the very front car or the very rear car. A lot of people in Shanghai have some weird issue with getting on either of those cars (honestly, I'm not sure why - I've heard many reasons from safety to motion sickness to 'it's bad luck', take your pick) so they are the least crowded at any given time. As a bonus, if some beggar happens to get on board, they will usually avoid these cars as well as it limits their routes. Huzzah!

I am in Shenzhen.........I try not to have my face near someone's armpits as deodorants do not seem to be on the shopping list of most people here

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
