I have applied for a job working for a university going through a recruiter. I have been told the University and the recruiter have broken their contract. Therefore I need to move from my university job to another one. What are my rights regarding this situation. Would I be free to seek employment elsewhere? Do they have a legal obligation to find me work? Can they cancel my residence permit if I leave them. Thank you in advanceDesmond

If the employer violate the Contract, you can resign and keep your Residence permit intact.
Try and respect Resignation notice on the Contract, i.e. '30-days RN' means your last working day at Uni will be 30 days after you submit RN to your employer.
If recruiter is your RP sponsor, submit RN to recruiter.
You should have secured new employment, which should be authorized to hire foreigners and extend your RP.
Your present employer must submit Release letter and FEC Cancelation Certificate to you or to your new employer in 30 days after your last working day.--------->Chinese law.
Your new employer will need both above documents to extend your RP.
You will most likely need help of SAFEA (Foreign Expert Bureau) at retrieval of both documents, so enter 'SAFEA' in search above for address and contact numbers of Provincial SAFEA.
What is the name of your recruiter?

How is that advertisement? What does it mean 'hahahah'? Are you retarded?
Why don't you tell better solution, before you 'paint brush' my post?! Is parrot your favorite pet?
Make sure you'll write long answer in proper Englo. Call other cheerleaders for help!
hahahah, your balls are tiny, aren't they? How's my English?

I'm just joking around. It's just funny to me I imagine you just calling this govt office about every little thing.
And on parrots another expat in my building, indian couple, had this absolutely beautiful sweetheart of a parrot. I got to take care of him when they were on vacation for a while. Parrots can be really cool. very playful
icnif77:
'parrot', because you wrote that for the second time.
However, I never plan my posts here. It's almost 'real time' postings.

Recruiters and legal obligations? Most of them are not even registered companies/agencies.
Take the infamous Rebecca Tang, she is known to scam both schools and foreign teachers, she takes massive cuts from the teachers' salaries (50-75%). She has extremely good guanxi with Beijing's police so she is virtually untouchable. Stories say some teachers actually were deported after they went to the police about her.
Some are less connected, like that Jack Huang guy in Guangzhou who has had to pay back a couple of dozen teachers' salaries after he was found out to be an illegal recruiter.
This is China, beware who you mess up with.
expatlife26:
Is rebecca tang a real person?
A scammer pretending to be a certain group which will remain nameless used to always badmouth her.
Is any of that true? Cause their deal was blackmail/extortion. I kinda thought if she was real she could be just some poor schmuck this guy was talking shit on to try and get her to pay up.
On the other hand just because this guy is an exortion artist doesn't mean rebecca tang isn't also a total piece of shit.
I'm just curious, is it really well established that she's a piece of shit in real life? or are you basing that opinion on forum posts. I'm not trying to down you either way i'm really curious cause it could go either way.
No one is going to mention the pink elephant in the room?
Move companies?
"I have been told the University and the recruiter have broken their contract. Therefore I need to move from my university job to another one."
Seriously, that makes no sense. Where are you from?
Chances are you're working illegally and they just made up some BS to get rid of you.
What visa are you on? Wrong visa, no rights.
expatlife26:
Yeah that doesn't make any sense. A recruiter just places people in jobs. If they are no longer recruiting for that company or school that shouldn't have any effect on you working there.
You already work there so don't need to be recruited.
If this guy is really from the man from the Congo it might not be possible for him to work on a legal visa. So theyre messing with him.

'My call wasn't, in the same time as yours.
Was tempted to dial your FEB, but I don't know much about except you aren't FT. So, I really didn't know what to ask in Guangzhou.'
I'm just waiting, if Hot will provide more details about his RP. Then I'll prove, he's wrong!
I advertise, but I've never seen any post/reply somebody really dialed Provincial FEB. It's all air, try to discredit my posts about FEB.
'BS anon posting without facts' you are all of you!
Fukin' lollypops.
