Q: How to file a complaint against a noisy neighbour

My neighbour has been making noise till 2-3am everyday for a month. What is the best and legal way to deal with it?

Waste of time. If your neighbor is really noisy I suggest buying the most powerful speakers you can find and playing Japanese porn at maximum volume when you are not at home but he/she is.

This or death metal, you choose. Eventually they will get the message.

Have you reported it to the building management office ? They might be in good position to help.

I had a similiar problem with the apartment above making disturbing noises well into the night.. our management initially requested them few times (they wouldnt stop), then warned to report to police and some dept (management would know details). They are quiet since then.

icnif77:

I was dismissed from my job in Jianou, Fujian, because I complained about constant noise in the apartment above me. It was loud banging (metal to metal) on above apartment's balcony.

After my complains to the School which provided apartment, rep. told me, apartment above me is empty (owner out of the apartments management reach), and nobody can enter apartment and stop banging. Some metal object was banging on balcony's railings with very loud noise always when windy.

School was unable to provide different apartment and served me with Dismissal notice instead.

Was this the same apartment where you also complained about anything? Plastic chairs, shit Internet, etc? The school probably decided you were too difficult to deal with....

I wasn't too difficult anywhere else. We were 3 FT there, 2 Americans, and few months after I left, both Americans left too.

Yes, 25m2 apartment with broken foldable picnic table and 3 plastic chairs, same one as people with standing ticket use for the train raid in China, and of course I had F-Expert-C. Apartment was on the 7th floor on the top of the outdoor market....wake-up (if you slept) at 5:30am, because 77 tapes were running about 'buy alive duck or 'barely alive chicken'..'knife sharpeners' in similar...'

School's luck was: Contract had provision that either party can resign with no reason given and 30-days notice.

Now, as you deemed me as complainer.....I slept some 30 days with i-Pod attached to my ears.

Of course, SAFEA was called, because School wanted to take me to PSB and cancel RP with 7-days China exit, or in other words 'we'll master you, TIC...". Because School terminated Contract without cause, I was permitted to stay in the house for another 30-days free of charge.

I also used their RP to get another job. School wasn't aware, they hired a cat.

About your '... school probably decided....' I'd say your opinion about yourself is very high, however if you would see Rec. letters I received from other schools I worked in China, you would stop looking yourself in the mirror and act as a master on this Board. You aren't the one!

You are talking to Non English with 7-years working experience as FT in China, in other words 'you aren't tall enough for me!'

However, I find it interesting that anything I wrote here, it turns to the negative assumptions about me. Why's that?

The Government are extending an Hospital my apartment overlooks. They have those basic ground drilling machines that sound like dinosaurs going 18, sometimes 24 hours a day.

squeek, groan, squeek, groan.... non stop.

I would have thought they could at least have some sort of noise curfew at a hospital.
