It depends on the work you are looking for.  If it is highly specialized, then it is possible to find a job here.  If you have little to no skills, or common skills such as IT, then you might want to think about teaching English.  That is the default profession for people here.

I've spent about 5 months in Shenzhen area (over two visits) since 2010.   Want / NEED to return there soon for business but also to see some really good friends again.  Question:  Is it true I could also LEGALLY do some occasional English tutoring for cash without changing my Business "F" Visa provided I never stayed longer than 90 days without renewing it in HK?  Or is that wrong.  Thanks so much for any help here.  Xie xie ni!

mdasbriones:

You can work as an English Teacher part-time while on Business visa. Some schools can offer you full-time jobs without changing your visa. It would be easy for them to hire you because they don't have to work on your visa anymore.. nor change it to a working visa.

I love the posts from non Native English speakers that have so many grammar mistakes and then add I can speak English well. So funny. Pacific, it's not legal, but then again everyone is doing side work, just keep your head down and do what you have to do

I love the posts from native speakers where they do not claim to speak English well, yet make mistakes worse than non-native third world country speakers.. it reminds me not to generalize perceptions.
