Is your licence back home specifically for a motorcycle? Cars wont cut it.

If yes then it isnt difficult or expensive. You can change your countrys into a chinese one. Youll need to take a theory test in English but no driving test. A few hundred rmb. Or pay more and have someone help if its too hard.

If you dont have a moto license from your home country or its expired its much harder. Youll need to start from scratch. Take lessons and theories and driving tests. Takes thousands and months... Or just pay... If you need help with that option let me know.

Scandinavian:

the theory test is pretty easy, there is an iOS app that helps a lot

There is a great topic on mychinamoto about getting a Chinese motorbike licence. Be patient as it is quite long:

The license is easy enough to get with a written exam if you have a foreign motorcycle license. But the plate is expensive and you can't ride on certain roads, I think it's restricted within the 内环 but I'm not entirely sure where that border is.

My one of friend asked some agency for it.

They said that Home country license is not valid in China,

You must go through all process step by step in Shanghai ..

1600 Yuan - 4 Months

1st) Physical test

2nd) Practical Test

3rd) Theory Test

Is it only way ?

The agent lied to your friend!

In Shanghai you can still convert a foreign motorbike license into a Chinese one. You need to get your foreign license translated/notarised as well (I think) as your passport. You then complete the required forms (you need a Chinese name for the licence), take a simple medical and take the written computer test. Once you've passed that you get the license. Total cost should be about 500RMB. Read through the link I posted above.

Ok.. Thanks for the help.

One more strange situation is , Price of Motorbike's License Plat.

Motorbike can be purchased about 5000-8000 yuan, But Number plat is expensive such as 20000-30000 yuan in Shanghai ?

I live in downtown area Xinzhuang, Minhang.

Anyone have any info for Beijing, the last I heard, motorcycle tests can no longer be taken by foreigners and the easiest way is to transfer a CAR license from your country or origin.

Anyone know anything more, as i'm returning to the UK soon and unsure as to which license I should pursue there UK motorcyle license is less than half that of a car license).

Hotwater:

Converting a car license if you have an RP is easy. Not sure about what you've been told about the motorbike license. Have a look at the link I posted above. That website should have the answer for you.

The MyChinaMoto link is from 2010?

I was told there had been a recent change to the rules by a reliable source (ex pat bike trader here in Beijing, now left)

Did you see how many pages there are? The last comments on my link are from last month!

A:You can still skin into China as a non-English native teacher by holding English Teaching license in your home country.2nd: Your BA degree should be completed in a native English country. Once, you fulfilled these 'parameters', you qualify for an English teaching job in China as a non-native English sneaker with Z - Entry/working visa with Working and Residence permit later on. See the last 'Answers Highlight' ---> there is a web link posted about 'requirements for teaching English language in China as a non-English native passport holder'. https://www.gooverseas.com/blog/guide-teaching-english-china#paragraph-item-63614-target

*English proficiency: Passport from one of seven "native speaker" countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa). If you aren’t a native speaker, you’ll need to be a certified teacher in your home country with proof of your English proficiency (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL). I'd say, Chinese will choose and look especially for a native English speaker at teaching of English Literature job openings. Posted job adverts for English Literature teaching are most likely from International Schools in China. Good luck! -- icnif77
