My girlfriend and I are wanting to move to Canada and work or study? Does anyone have any advice?

You can apply for a student visa, but can't work. Maybe you can find a cash paying job once there. If you are from Texas, go to the USA. If your GF is not from USA, you're out of luck.
If you have a student visa, you can work part time. But, most important is if you want to work or study.
Yup, Nevermind is right again.

Honestly, I don't understand how anyone can ask such an open ended question. It wreaks of "Chineseness". Not practical at all.
If you are Chinese, you can work here.......... Canadians are not qualified.

HD Mining International Ltd. is expecting about 60 Chinese workers to come to Canada — some as early as this weekend — to join 15 foreign miners already working at the proposed coal mine near Tumbler Ridge, B.C.
The unions alleged HD Mining's plan to hire 201 workers and pay them considerably lower wages than what Canadian miners earn for comparable work will depress the labour market, causing irreparable harm.

That story is gonna be a huge blow up. The feds and province f*cked up big time and it's gonna cost them.
You will need visas for work or study, not easy to get it, but many do. You will need lots of cash if you want to come here to study.
If you are coming to work, it is very easy to find good work in Alberta.
so you don't do mining ...... here is a food outfit that hires predominantly Chinese in or around Richmond BC........... Richmond is at the Vancouver airport ........ get off the plane and go straight to work.
Sorry not to be so precise in my question. I am an american now living in wuhan, China teaching oral English. I have taught agriculture and special education in the states before coming to China. My girlfriend is Chinese and she has been working for the Canadian Trade Office for a year and she desires to go to Canada. So right now we are investigating it and planning.

They aren't taking people who think "desires" is a verb. But now that's out of the way, I would suggest both of you look for positions under the temporary foreign worker program. It is the easiest way to immigrate quickly, unless you have some money to study. Basically once you get two years of Canadian work under your belt as a TFW you can apply for your permanent resident status, which entitles you to everything with the exception of voting (you have to apply for citizenship after three PR years to vote). If you have the money hire a reputable immigration consultant. It will be easier for you than your GF to get to the Great White North.
If she wants to get a working visa, then she needs to be hired by a Canadian company first, then she can go through the same complicated process as people go through there of providing 20 different kinds of documents when applying for a working visa.
I don't think working holiday visa is open to Chinese applicants.
Hope it helps
it would have definitely helped them if you had replied one and a half years earlier..
